PRESS RELEASE

Hays County Launches Online Cash Bond Portal With eBONDSTyler, TX, August 28, 2024As of May 1, 2024 the Hays County Jail will be accepting cash bond payments through a new cash bond payment portal from Genesis eBONDS (bail.cash/HaysTX). Cash bonds up to $50,000 can now be paid securely online from anywhere, at any time. Previously, cash bonds were required to be paid in person during bond desk operating hours in cash or with a money order. The person posting the cash bond no longer has to travel to the jail or be concerned about banking hours and/or ATM limits, which greatly expedites the bonding process. Jim Nipp, President of Genesis eBONDS, is very excited about this change in bonding procedures at the county. β€œThis really improves the way the jail works with cash bonds,” said Nipp. β€œThis shortens the amount of time it takes to get somebody out of jail on a cash bond from days to literally minutes.β€β€œFor example,” Nipp said, β€œif a student attending college in San Marcos or surrounding areas were to be arrested and have an option for bond, that student’s parents, who may live in another city, can now post a cash bond without ever having to drive to San Marcos.”With the addition of the cash bond portal, jails will no longer assume the risk of managing or transporting large sums of cash. The cash bond portal allows for eligible bonds to be paid with a debit or credit card without having to be present at the detention facility.Paying a cash bond in Hays County, TX is now a simple process!
